Background:

Recently, the Directorate issued instructions providing a one-time relaxation for promotions to HSG-I for the vacancies in the years 2022 and 2023. This decision was welcomed by the AIASC as a significant step towards addressing workforce shortages and promoting career growth within the postal sector. However, there are lingering concerns regarding the exclusion of eligible officials from the promotion lists and the need to consider vacancies for the year 2024.

Advocacy Efforts:

The AIASC has been actively advocating for the inclusion of all eligible officials in the promotion lists and urging the Directorate to consider vacancies for the year 2024. In a letter addressed to the Hon'ble Secretary (Posts), the association expressed its appreciation for the relaxation initiative while highlighting the importance of considering all eligible cases and future vacancies.

Request for Consideration:

The AIASC has requested the Directorate to reconsider the eligibility of all left-out cases before implementing the promotion orders. The association emphasized the significance of revisiting the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) Office Memorandum (OM) referenced in this regard and ensuring the inclusion of vacancies for the year 2024. By doing so, the postal department can effectively address workforce shortages and ensure equitable opportunities for career advancement.

Conclusion:

The advocacy efforts of the All India Association of Supervisor Cadre (Gr.B) underscore the importance of addressing workforce shortages and promoting career growth within the postal sector. By advocating for relaxation in promotion criteria and urging consideration of future vacancies, the AIASC is playing a vital role in shaping the workforce dynamics and enhancing the quality of service delivery within the postal department.
