Title: Urgent Notice: Collection of Bhagyalakshmi-SSA Account Opening Forms

Introduction:

The Karnataka Circle of the Ministry of Communication, Government of India, has issued an urgent notice regarding the collection of Sukanya Samriddhi Account Opening Forms (AOF) of Bhagyalakshmi beneficiaries. This article aims to provide comprehensive information on the process and the urgent action required for the collection of these forms.

Background:

As part of the Bhagyalakshmi scheme, Bengaluru GPO receives beneficiary data from the Department of Women & Child Development, Government of Karnataka annually. Based on this data, account opening forms are printed and sent to District DWCD offices. These forms are then distributed to Child Development Project Officers (CDPOs) for collection of photographs, signatures, and KYC documents from Bhagyalakshmi beneficiaries.

Current Status:

As of January 2024, Bengaluru GPO has only received 8,830 out of 4,46,620 AOFs sent to 31 Deputy Directors of DWCD. The majority of the forms are still pending with Division/HOs or Deputy Directors of DWCD/CDPOs.

Action Required:

All identified Single Point of Contacts (SPOCs) for Bhagyalakshmi-SSA are directed to contact the Deputy Director of the concerned district or the respective CDPO of the taluk. They are responsible for collecting and sending the pending AOFs to the Assistant Chief Postmaster, SSA Bhagyalakshmi Cell, Bengaluru GPO, Bengaluru-560001, through service post at the earliest.

Urgency and Deadline:

To facilitate the subsequent deposit and update of Aadhaar/PAN/Mobile details through CMRC in Finacle, it is crucial to dispatch all pending applications by 20th February 2024. Failure to do so may result in delays in processing and implementation of the Bhagyalakshmi scheme.

Conclusion:

The timely collection and submission of Bhagyalakshmi-SSA Account Opening Forms are essential to ensure the smooth functioning of the scheme and to provide financial assistance to eligible beneficiaries. All concerned stakeholders are urged to adhere to the instructions and deadlines provided to expedite the process and support the welfare of Bhagyalakshmi beneficiaries.
