New Delhi, 9 July 2025 –
The Department of Posts, under the Ministry of Communications, Government of
India, has issued a call for applications from eligible postal officers and
officials for positions in the newly formed DAC/GIS Cell at the Centre for Excellence in Postal Technology (CEPT), Bengaluru.
This strategic move is part of the Department’s Digital Address Ecosystem (DAE) initiative aimed at developing a standardized, geo-coded addressing system for the nation. The project envisions delivering simplified, location-based addressing solutions to citizens and institutions, thereby establishing “Address as a Service” (AaaS) in India.

The Department seeks applications from officers and officials in the cadre of Assistant Director Postal Services and Postal Assistants who possess relevant skills in GIS, web development, application security, and mapping technologies. The preferred technology stack includes:

establishment and will receive allowances based on their place of posting
(either Bengaluru or current location).
