Central Government Employees in Kerala to Receive August 2026 Salary and Pension in Advance for Onam Festival
The Ministry of Finance, Department of Expenditure, has announced the advance disbursement of salary, wages, and pension for Central Government employees and pensioners in the State of Kerala on the occasion of the Onam Festival.

As per the Office Memorandum dated 03 August 2026, the Government has decided to release the payments on 24 August 2026 (Monday) to enable employees and pensioners to celebrate the festival without financial constraints.
Advance Salary for Central Government Employees
The Government has approved that the salary for the month of August 2026 for all Central Government employees working in Kerala may be drawn and disbursed on 24 August 2026.
The order covers employees of all Central Government offices in Kerala, including:
- Defence
- Department of Posts
- Department of Telecommunications
- Other Central Government Ministries and Departments
Advance Wages for Industrial Employees
The wages for August 2026 of industrial employees serving under the Central Government in Kerala may also be paid in advance on 24 August 2026.
Pension Also to Be Released Early
The Government has further decided that the August 2026 pension of all Central Government pensioners residing in Kerala may also be disbursed by Banks and Pay & Accounts Offices (PAOs) on 24 August 2026.
Adjustment After Final Salary
The Office Memorandum clarifies that the salary, wages, and pension released in advance will be treated as advance payments. Necessary adjustments, if any, will be made while settling the full salary, wages, or pension for the month of August 2026.
Instructions to Ministries and Banks
All Ministries and Departments have been instructed to immediately inform their offices located in Kerala about the advance payment schedule. The Reserve Bank of India has also been requested to advise all bank branches in Kerala to make the necessary arrangements for timely disbursement.
The advance release of salary, wages, and pension is a welcome step by the Government, ensuring that Central Government employees and pensioners in Kerala can celebrate Onam 2026 with greater financial convenience and festive cheer.
