According to the clarification issued on 9 July 2026, the deadline for clearing the Licentiate Examination has been extended up to 30 September 2026. The order has been issued in continuation of the Directorate's earlier letter dated 1 April 2026 regarding the promotional and incentive structure of PLI/RPLI and licence management for the sales force.
The Directorate has instructed all Heads of Circles to widely circulate the information among all members of the sales force who have not yet obtained a permanent licence. Such officials are advised to utilize this extended period to successfully clear the Licentiate Examination and become eligible for a permanent licence.
The clarification also makes it clear that this is a one-time extension, and no further requests for extending the deadline will be entertained in future. Therefore, eligible officials are advised not to wait until the last moment and should complete the examination well before the revised deadline.
The decision provides much-needed relief to PLI/RPLI sales personnel who could not clear the examination within the earlier stipulated period. At the same time, it underscores the Directorate's expectation that all concerned officials should regularize their licence status within the extended timeline and continue promoting Postal Life Insurance and Rural Postal Life Insurance services effectively.
