Department of Posts to Release Next Supplementary Merit List for GDS Online Engagement Schedule-I, January 2026
The Department of Posts has issued important instructions regarding the release of the next supplementary merit list under GDS Online Engagement Schedule-I, January 2026. In a communication dated 1 July 2026, the GDS Section has directed CEPT, Bengaluru to publish additional supplementary lists for specific Postal Circles and Divisions to facilitate the upcoming recruitment schedule.

Supplementary Lists to Be Released
Following clarification sought by CEPT, the Department has approved the release of additional merit lists for certain Circles and Divisions where elections or by-elections affected the recruitment process.
List-IV for Four Postal Circles
The Department has permitted the release of List-IV for the following Postal Circles:
- Assam
- Kerala
- Tamil Nadu
- West Bengal
These Circles witnessed elections during April–May 2026, and only three merit lists had been released so far. No further lists are required for the remaining Divisions of the other 19 Circles where List-IV has already been published.
Supplementary List-IVA for Eight Divisions
The Department has also approved the publication of Supplementary List-IVA for the following eight Divisions, where by-elections were held during April–May 2026 and the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) was in force:
- Goa
- Anand
- Bagalkot
- Davanagere
- Shrirampur
- Baramati
- Nagaland
- Dharmanagar
The merit list will clearly mention the respective Division name in the format "Supplementary List-IVA (Name of Division)".
Publication Timeline
CEPT has been requested to publish the approved supplementary lists on or before 3 July 2026 to ensure the timely conduct of the GDS Online Engagement July 2026 Schedule.

The release of these supplementary merit lists is expected to complete the pending recruitment process in the affected Circles and Divisions where elections had delayed the engagement process. Candidates belonging to the concerned Postal Circles and Divisions are advised to regularly check the official GDS Online Engagement portal for the publication of the supplementary lists and further recruitment updates.
