Subrat Das Appointed Secretary, Department of Posts and Chairperson of Postal Services Board
New Delhi, May 29, 2026: The Department of Posts has announced the appointment of Shri Subrat Das (IPoS: 1991) as the new Secretary, Department of Posts and Chairperson, Postal Services Board (PSB). The appointment has been approved by the Competent Authority following the recommendation of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).

According to the office order issued by the Personnel Division, Dak Bhawan, Shri Subrat Das, who is currently serving as Member (Technology & Estates), Postal Services Board, will assume the top leadership position in the Department of Posts after the superannuation of Ms. Vandita Kaul (IPoS: 1989) on 31 May 2026.
A senior officer of the Indian Postal Service, Shri Das brings with him extensive administrative and technological experience gained through decades of service in the postal sector. His appointment is expected to further strengthen ongoing initiatives aimed at modernizing postal operations, enhancing technology-driven services, and improving customer experience across the country.
The order also directs that the charge assumption report be submitted in due course after Shri Das takes over the responsibilities of the office.
The appointment marks a significant leadership transition for India Post as it continues its transformation into a modern, technology-enabled service organization while maintaining its vast nationwide network and commitment to public service.
