Speed Post Document Tariff Revised from October 1, 2025
New Delhi, Sept. 26: The Department of Posts, Ministry of Communications, has announced a revision in the tariff structure for Inland Speed Post (Documents) effective October 1, 2025, as notified in the Gazette of India on September 25, 2025.

The decision comes in view of sustaining service improvements, meeting rising operational costs, and investing in future innovations to ensure reliable, secure, and efficient postal services.

An additional ₹5 per Speed Post item (Document/Parcel), over and above postage.

Item delivered only after the addressee provides a One-Time Password (OTP) to the delivery staff.

Implementation & System Updates

The revised tariff will come into effect from October 1, 2025.

CEPT has been directed to modify the system software for both bulk and individual customers before the effective date.

All Heads of Circles and field units have been instructed for wide publicity of the changes.
Official Statement
The Department stated that the changes are essential for sustaining service quality, ensuring financial viability, and supporting the digital transformation of India Post services.
The notification was issued with the approval of the competent authority and signed by Dushyant Mudgal, DDG (Mail Operations).
