As you would be aware that Hon'ble Prime Minister has recently announced Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Yojana with an aim to light up 1 crore households by providing up to 300 units of electricity through rooftop solar (RTS) every month.
2. The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has requested the Department of Posts for implementation of a door-to-door campaign to register the beneficiaries under this programme. It has been decided that DoP, by utilizing its delivery staff (Postman/GDS etc.) will conduct door-to-door registrations on the mobile application “QRT PM Surya Ghar".
3. A kind reference is invited to DO letter no. BD-10RP/1/2024-BDMD dated 13.02.2024 followed by meeting with held by Member (O) on 14.02.2024 in this regard. Training sessions for Circle admins and master trainers have been organized on 13.02.2024 and 22.02.2024 by MNRE technical team.
4. In this regard, detailed SOP along with FAQs is enclosed for ready reference. The financials and SAP of the project will be shared shortly. The enrolment of enumerators (Postman/GDS ete.) is so ba completo by 25.02.2024 by respective Circles admins. The user IDs of the Circle admins are attached herewith. The password will be their mobile number which was shared by the Circles with this office. (Password may be changed immediately on first login)
5. The registration process shall go live on 26.02.2024. It is a special initiative of the Government of India and will be monitored by PMO therefore, it is requested to kindly ensure its finer execution, exceptional quality and time bound completion.
6. Circle -wise target has been prepared which is also enclosed. It is mentioned that the targets have been decided on the number of PMA and DARPAN devices available in the Circle. A target of 60 registrations per device has been fixed, so that requisite number of the beneficiaries is registered all over India. Since the QRT PM Surya Ghar app to be used for registrations, runs on Android, any phone that runs on Android may be used for the purpose of registrations. An action taken report on number of enumerators onboarded and remining may be submitted to BD Directorate on bddirectorate@gmail.com by 26.02.2024.
7. Secretary (Posts) will be reviewing the progress with HoCs next week. This issues with the approval of competent authority.
