APT 2.0 Portal to Reopen for Pending GDS Compassionate Engagement Cases from October 9 to 16, 2026
Department of Posts Extends APT 2.0 Portal Access to Clear Pending GDS Compassionate Engagement Cases
The Department of Posts, Ministry of Communications, Government of India, has directed the processing and disposal of pending Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) Compassionate Engagement (CCE) cases through the APT 2.0 portal. To facilitate the completion of pending cases, the department has requested the Centre for Excellence in Postal Technology (CEPT), Mysuru, to enable the CCE and AD/APMG modules for a one-time period from October 9 to October 16, 2026.

According to the communication issued by the GDS Section of the Department of Posts, several cases and applications are pending at different stages of processing, verification and finalisation.
Pending Cases Identified
CEPT has reported that 16 cases are pending at various stages of CCE processing. In addition, 35 applications are pending at the Assistant Director (AD)/Assistant Postmaster General (APMG) stage, while AD/APMG verification remains pending in 17 divisions.
The department has directed the concerned Postal Circles to take necessary action to ensure that all pending cases within their jurisdiction are processed within the extended period.
One-Time Opening of APT 2.0 Modules
To facilitate the disposal of these cases, CEPT, Mysuru, has been requested to open the CCE and AD/APMG modules in APT 2.0 on a one-time basis from October 9 to October 16, 2026.
During this period, the concerned Circles must complete all pending CCE verification and finalisation activities, generate and upload the minutes, and complete AD/APMG verification for the cases under their jurisdiction.
No Further Extension
The Department of Posts has clearly instructed that all pending cases at the CCE and AD/APMG levels must be processed within the extended period during which the portal remains enabled. No further extension will be granted.
The concerned Circles are also required to submit the final case-wise compliance and status report to the GDS Section immediately after completing the prescribed activities.
The communication, issued with the approval of the competent authority, aims to ensure the timely disposal of pending GDS Compassionate Engagement cases and the completion of all required verification and documentation through APT 2.0.
