The Directorate of Postal Life Insurance (PLI), Department of Posts, Government of India, has granted a one-time extension of the deadline for clearing the Licentiate Examination required for obtaining a permanent licence for the PLI/RPLI sales force.

As per the Directorate’s letter No. 29-04/2025-LI dated 09 July 2026, the last date for clearing the Licentiate Examination has been extended to 30 September 2026. The decision has been taken with the approval of the Competent Authority.
The extension provides additional time to sales force members who have not yet obtained their permanent licence to complete the required examination formalities.
The Directorate has directed all Postal Circles to follow the necessary guidelines and ensure that the information regarding the extended deadline reaches all concerned sales force members who are yet to obtain their permanent licence.
Importantly, the Directorate has clarified that this is a one-time extension and that requests for a similar extension will not be entertained in future.
Therefore, all concerned PLI/RPLI sales force members who have not yet cleared the Licentiate Examination are advised to make use of this final opportunity and complete the examination on or before 30 September 2026.
