The Department of Posts, Ministry of Communications, Government of India, has issued an Office Order dated 22 September 2026 regarding the promotion of an officer to the post of Member, Postal Services Board.

As per the order, Dr. Alok Pande (IPoS: 1994) has been appointed on promotion to the Higher Administrative Grade Plus (HAG+) of the Indian Postal Service, Group ‘A’, and posted as Member (Financial Services), Postal Services Board. The post carries the HAG+ pay level of Level-16, ₹2,05,400–₹2,24,400, in the Pay Matrix. The promotion takes effect from 1 October 2026 or from the date of assumption of charge, whichever is later.
Dr. Alok Pande is presently serving on deputation as Additional Secretary, Department of Investment and Public Asset Management (DIPAM), Ministry of Finance. Following his promotion, he will take up the responsibility of Member (Financial Services), Postal Services Board.
The order further states that Ms. Manisha Sinha, who is presently holding the position of Member (Financial Services), is to be promoted as Director General Postal Services (DGPS) against a vacancy arising with effect from 1 October 2026, and upon relinquishment of charge of Member (Financial Services).
The officer may exercise the option for fixation of pay under FR-22(I)(a)(1) within one month from the date of assumption of charge. The order also directs that the relevant charge reports be submitted in due course.
The Office Order has been issued by the Personnel Division, Department of Posts, under Order No. 1-11/2025-SPG, dated 22 September 2026. The communication has been circulated to senior officers and offices concerned, including the Postal Services Board, Postal Training Centres, Circles and other administrative units.
