GDS Online Engagement Schedule-II 2026: Important Instructions on Candidate Complaints
GDS Online Engagement Schedule-II July 2026: Postal Directorate Issues Guidelines for Prompt Handling of Candidate Complaints
The GDS Section, Postal Directorate has issued important instructions to all Circles regarding the handling and timely disposal of candidate complaints received during the GDS Online Engagement, Schedule-II, July-2026 process.
The Registration and Application Submission process for GDS Online Engagement, Schedule-II, July-2026 commenced from 31 August 2026. To ensure an effective grievance redressal mechanism, candidates have been provided with a Complaint Registration facility.
Complaints to be Attended Promptly
The Postal Directorate has directed all Circles to attend to complaints raised by candidates regarding GDS Online Engagement promptly upon receipt.
Once a candidate registers a complaint, it will be routed to the login of the concerned Circle users having the roles specified in the prescribed complaint-handling process.
Only Technical Complaints to be Transferred to CEPT
A key instruction is that only complaints involving technical issues should be transferred to CEPT.
Complaints that are not related to technical issues should not be transferred to CEPT and should be handled at the appropriate Circle level.
The Directorate has further cautioned Circles against retaining technical complaints until the last date of the application or resubmission window. Such complaints should be transferred to CEPT without delay.
Technical Complaints After Closure of Application Window
The GDS Online Engagement process is governed by specific timelines, and the application and resubmission windows are time-bound.
The Postal Directorate has specifically stated that forwarding technical complaints to CEPT after the relevant application or resubmission window has closed may not serve the intended purpose, as CEPT may not be in a position to respond once the prescribed timeline has expired.
The responsibility for technical complaints transferred to CEPT after closure of the relevant window may rest with the concerned Circle, as such complaints may no longer be actionable by CEPT.
Concern Over Pendency of Complaints
The Postal Directorate has also referred to the previous January-2026 GDS engagement schedule, during which the Office of the Hon’ble Minister of Communications and the Secretary (Posts) expressed concern over the large pendency of unresolved complaints.
In view of this, all Circles have been advised to take pre-emptive measures to ensure that such pendency does not recur during the current GDS engagement schedule.
Guidelines Issued to All Circles
The Directorate has prescribed the following key guidelines for effective complaint management:
- Attend candidate complaints promptly upon receipt.
- Transfer only technical complaints to CEPT without delay.
- Do not retain technical complaints at the Circle level until the last date or closure of the application/resubmission window.
- During the final days of the application process, deploy additional resources wherever required to ensure timely disposal of complaints.
Special Attention During Last Few Days
As the application process approaches its closing date, complaint volumes may increase significantly. Therefore, Circles have been advised to make suitable arrangements and deploy additional manpower wherever necessary.
Timely handling during the final days is particularly important because a technical complaint received close to the closure of the application or resubmission window may require immediate technical intervention.
Directions for Strict Compliance
The Postal Directorate has instructed that appropriate directions should be issued to all concerned officials to ensure rigorous and timely handling of candidate grievances throughout the registration, application submission and resubmission periods.
The detailed process for complaint management at the Circle level has also been enclosed with the communication for necessary compliance.
Important Takeaway
The latest instructions place strong emphasis on speedy grievance resolution and clear responsibility between Circles and CEPT during the GDS Online Engagement Schedule-II, July-2026.
Circles should not wait until the last date to escalate technical complaints. Only genuine technical issues should be transferred to CEPT, and such transfer should be made immediately so that necessary action can be taken within the applicable application or resubmission window.
The objective is to avoid the recurrence of the complaint pendency witnessed during the January-2026 engagement schedule and ensure that candidates receive timely assistance throughout the GDS recruitment process.
