The Department of Posts has updated the Rule 3 Transfer Schedule for the ongoing Cycle-2 GDS Transfer 2026. As per the schedule displayed on the Rule 3 Transfer portal, the transfer results are scheduled to be published on 8 July 2026.

Thousands of Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS) who applied for transfer under Rule 3 are eagerly awaiting the allotment list.

Current Status of Rule 3 Transfer Cycle

The portal shows that Current Cycle: 2 is active under Notification No. 17-31/2016-GDS, issued on 21 May 2026. The transfer process has progressed through various stages, including vacancy updates, application submission, verification, and processing.

  • Vacancy Update by Divisions/Units: 25 May 2026
  • Vacancy Approval by Circles: 2 June 2026
  • Submission of Applications: 8 June 2026
  • One-Time Modification of Preferences: 18 June 2026
  • Verification of Applications by Divisions: 30 June 2026
  • Processing of Applications: Completed
  • Result Publication: 8 July 2026
  • Relieving of Selected GDS: 13 July 2026
  • Deemed Relief: 21 July 2026
