Karnataka Circle Launches Special Drive to Revive Lapsed PLI/RPLI Policies
The Karnataka Postal Circle has launched a special month-long drive to revive lapsed Postal Life Insurance (PLI) and Rural Postal Life Insurance (RPLI) policies. The campaign will be conducted from 1 July 2026 to 31 July 2026, with the objective of reconnecting with policyholders and helping them restore their valuable life insurance coverage.

Over 2.31 Lakh Lapsed Policies Identified
According to the communication issued by the Office of the Chief Postmaster General, Karnataka Circle, 2,31,241 PLI/RPLI policies are currently in lapsed status across the Circle. The Circle has set an initial target of reviving 20% of these policies, which amounts to 46,248 policy revivals during the campaign period.
Region-wise Revival Targets
The revival targets have been distributed among the three Regions as follows:
- BG HQ Region: 22,788 lapsed policies – Target: 4,558 revivals
- North Karnataka Region: 1,01,694 lapsed policies – Target: 20,339 revivals
- South Karnataka Region: 1,06,759 lapsed policies – Target: 21,352 revivals
The overall target for Karnataka Circle is 46,248 policy revivals.
Customer-Centric Outreach Campaign
The Circle has instructed all Regions and Divisions to undertake extensive outreach activities using:
- Departmental employees
- Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS)
- Direct Agents
- Field Officers
The campaign will focus on educating policyholders about the long-term benefits of reviving their policies and the importance of maintaining uninterrupted life insurance protection for their families.
Agent Incentives and Awareness
To encourage active participation, the Circle has directed all offices to publicize the incentives available for the sales force involved in facilitating policy revivals. The initiative aims to motivate employees and agents to contact policyholders and assist them in restoring their insurance coverage.
Weekly Progress Monitoring
Divisional Heads have been instructed to monitor the campaign on a weekly basis. Regional Offices will submit consolidated progress reports to the Circle Office every Monday to review achievements against the prescribed weekly targets and ensure the overall revival objective is achieved by the end of July.
Strengthening Customer Financial Security
The Karnataka Circle emphasized that the initiative is not only intended to improve renewal premium revenue but also to safeguard the financial security of policyholders and their families. Through this dedicated revival drive, the Department aims to help thousands of customers regain uninterrupted life insurance protection while strengthening the PLI/RPLI portfolio across the Circle.
