PLI/RPLI Licentiate Examination 2026: Mandatory Training and Certification for Provisional License Holders

 The Department of Posts has reiterated the requirement for all PLI/RPLI sales force members holding provisional licenses to successfully complete the Licentiate Examination and obtain a permanent license within the prescribed timeline.

According to the Directorate's letter dated 01.04.2026 on license management of the PLI/RPLI sales force and earlier instructions issued on 12.10.2022 regarding the PLI Mobile Training App and Licentiate Examination, all sales personnel who have not yet completed the mandatory training and examination must do so by June 2026.

Mandatory Requirement for Permanent License

As per the revised guidelines, sales force members holding provisional licenses are required to pass the Licentiate Examination within three months to become eligible for a permanent license. Failure to comply with the requirement may result in cancellation of the agency.

PLI Mobile Training App

The training and examination process is conducted through the PLI Mobile Training App, which can be downloaded from the Google Play Store.

Registration Process

Applicants are required to:

  1. Download and install the PLI Mobile Training App.
  2. Register using their Agent Code, PAN Number, and Email ID.
  3. Pay the prescribed fee of ₹400 (inclusive of GST).
  4. Obtain access to the training platform for 30 days.

Mandatory Training

Before appearing for the examination, candidates must complete 15 hours of mandatory training through the app. The training content is available in multiple formats, including:

  • Audio lessons
  • Video modules
  • E-books

Licentiate Examination Details

The online examination consists of:

  • Total Questions: 25
  • Minimum Passing Marks: 35%
  • Attempts Allowed: Unlimited within the 30-day access period

Candidates can reappear for the examination multiple times during the validity period until they achieve the qualifying marks.

Certificate Generation

Upon successful completion of both the training and examination, the system will generate a Training-cum-Examination Certificate.

Post-Examination Requirements

After passing the examination, candidates should:

  • Submit a copy of the certificate to the concerned Divisional Office.
  • Retain a copy of the certificate for future reference and verification.

Important Points to Remember

  • Training and examination must be completed within the 30-day access period.
  • If the course is not completed within 30 days, the fee must be paid again for fresh access.
  • Passing the Licentiate Examination within the stipulated three-month period is mandatory.
  • Non-compliance may lead to cancellation of the agency license.

All eligible PLI/RPLI sales force members are advised to complete the training and examination at the earliest to avoid any disruption in licensing and business activities.
