India Post Extends Deadline for Union Membership Change Authorization Forms till 31 May 2026
The Department of Posts, Ministry of Communications, Government of India, has issued an important clarification regarding the submission of authorization forms for change of union membership.

As per the official communication issued by the SR Section, Dak Bhawan, New Delhi, the last date for submission of authorization forms has been extended from 30 April 2026 to 31 May 2026 as a one-time relaxation.
The order states that the decision was taken considering the elections held in various states and based on the advice of the Department of Personnel & Training (DoP&T). The relaxation applies to all Service Associations functioning under the Department of Posts.
The communication has been addressed to all Heads of Postal Circles and Regions with instructions to circulate the information to all concerned units and offices under their jurisdiction for necessary action.
The order was issued under file number SR-10/7/2025-SR-DOP dated 22 May 2026 and signed by Nahar Singh Meena, Assistant Director General (SR & Legal).
This extension provides additional time for postal employees and members of service associations to complete the process of changing their union membership authorization forms without inconvenience.
