The Government of India has issued an important circular dated 07 May 2026 directing all Circles and Regions to carry out verification of Public Provident Fund (PPF) accounts to identify irregularly opened or operated accounts.

1. Verification of Irregularly Operated PPF Accounts
All concerned offices have been instructed to cross-check records and identify PPF accounts that may have been opened or operated irregularly, including cases involving operation through Power of Attorney or other unauthorized methods.
2. Strict Compliance with PPF Scheme Rules
