India Post Promotes Personalized Cheque Book Facility for POSA Customers
The Department of Posts has launched a major initiative to promote the newly introduced Personalized Cheque Book (PCB) facility for Post Office Savings Account (POSA) customers across the country. The facility was officially introduced with effect from 08 May 2026 through SB Order No. 05/2026.

According to a communication issued by Rajul Bhatt, Deputy Director General (FS & PBI), Department of Posts, the Personalized Cheque Book is aimed at modernizing POSB services and improving the overall customer experience.
What is a Personalized Cheque Book?
The new Personalized Cheque Book comes with pre-printed customer details such as:
Account Holder Name
Account Number
IFSC Code of the Department
This feature enhances convenience, improves security, and provides banking services comparable to modern financial institutions.
Instructions Issued to Postal Circles
All Heads of Circles have been requested to widely publicize the facility and create awareness among customers. The Department has instructed field units to focus on the following activities:
Display posters and notices in Post Offices
Promote the facility through social media and outreach programmes
Educate postal staff about the benefits of PCB
Encourage eligible POSA customers to opt for the facility
Guide customers regarding request submission and delivery process
