India Post Issues Operational Guideline to Resolve COD Digital Payment Sync Issues

In order to ensure smooth delivery operations and avoid duplicate payment collection during Cash on Delivery (COD) article delivery, India Post has issued an important operational guideline for delivery staff handling digital payment synchronization issues in the mobile delivery application.

Sometimes, customers successfully complete the digital payment for a COD article, but the delivery app may still display the amount status as “Pending” or “Not Updated.” In such situations, delivery staff are advised not to collect the payment again. Instead, the issue can be resolved through a simple app refresh process.

Steps to Resolve COD Payment Sync Issue

Delivery officials should follow the below procedure before finalizing the delivery:

1. Close All Running Applications

Immediately close or crash all applications running in the background on the mobile device. This helps refresh the app session and clears temporary sync issues.

2. Relaunch the Delivery App

Reopen the delivery application and log in again using your credentials.

3. Select the Concerned Article

Navigate back to the COD article for which the digital payment was already made by the customer.

4. Check System Confirmation Message

After selecting the article, the system will display the following message:

“Amount received for this article, proceed for remark updation.”

This confirms that the payment has been successfully received by the system.

5. Complete the Delivery Process

Update the delivery remark as “Delivered,” obtain the customer’s digital signature, and finalize the delivery process.

Important Note for Delivery Staff

Once the above steps are completed, the application will recognize the digital payment successfully, and the delivery official will not be prompted to collect the COD amount again from the customer.

This operational guideline will help prevent duplicate payment collection, reduce customer complaints, and ensure seamless COD delivery operations across the network.
