GDS Strike 2023 - Department to initiate Disciplinary action as per Rule 8 & Rule-23 of GDS (Conduct & Engagement) Rules, 2020

No. PMG(H)/Vig/Indefinite Strike/ AIGDSU&NUGDS /Dec/2023 dated at Hyd-1, the 13.12.2023


Sub: Indefinite Strike from 12.12.2023 by AIGDSU and NUGDS -Regarding.


Ref: This office letter of even no. dated 11.12.2023 and e-mail dated 13.12.2023.


Please refer to this office letter and e-mail cited above regarding ongoing indefinite strike by CGDS belonging to AIGDSU and NUGDSU.


In this regard, I am directed by Competent Authority to request you to refer to the Appeal dated 12.12.2023 given by Secretary, Department of Posts requesting the GDS staff to call off the strike and to join duty to avoid dislocation of services. Keeping in view of the above, all the GDS under your jurisdiction may be appealed to join duty immediately.


In this connection, C.0 vide Lr-No. Vig/indefinite strike/AIGDSU/NUGDS/Dec/2023 dated 13.12.2023 communicated the following remarks:


“Invoke the provisions of Rule 8 in respect of GDS who have not completed 3 years of service, in case, if they do not join duty by 13.12.2023 (A N). The attention of the other GDS should be brought to the provisions of Rule-23 of GDS (Conduct & Engagement) Rules, 2020."
