Department of Posts (DOP) celebrates National Postal Week every year During the month of October from 09th October 2022 to 13th October 2022.

1. Following is the schedule for the celebration of World Post Day and National Postal Week 2022




9th October 2022

Financial Empowerment Day

Philately Day, Celebration of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM)

12th October 2022


Mails & Parcel Day

13th October 2022


Antyoday Day

2. The following activities have been proposed.

(a) Neat and Clean all Post Offices, mail offices and administrative offices,

(b) Various activities for Postal week and contact schools for organizing events for children during Postal week

(c) Organzing Camps/Melas for the opening of accounts under POSB and procuring PLI/RPLI proposals

3.Day wise actavities at Divisional level.

3.1) World Post Day ( 09-10-2022 )

(1). Display the UPU World Post Day poster and banner of National Postal Week 2022 inall Head Post Offices. The banner will be supplied by this office.

3.2) Vittiya Sashaktikaran Diwas (Financial Empowerment Day) ( 10-10-2022)

(i). A minimum of 2 Melas per Sub Division with a special focus on acquiring long term POSB Accounts such as SSA, PPF, SCSS, MIS, TD and opening of IPPB accounts to be organized. In addition to this procurementeof PLI/RPLIE poliices . A target of procuring of PLI/RPLT fixed for 100/500 Policies in each Sub Division

(ii) POSB Quiz to be organized for the customers, Agents,GDS,Departmental staff Officers, etc on this day at 3 HO level.

3.3) Philately Day:Celebration of AZadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav(11-10-2022 ) 

Opening of Philately accounts and condut a Workshop to spread awareness about Philately as a hobby. Philately Exhibition at least one in each sub Division

3.4) Mails and Parcels Day ( 12-10-2022 )

a) Customer Meets for bulk customers to be organized at Divisional Level to inform customers about the new initiatives taken under Parcel Tracker and obtain their feedback on the services offered. Head Post Office is identified for Customers meet on 12-10-2022.

b) Workshops with Postmasers and delivery staff posted in field units will be conducted through VC on 12-10-2022 at 16.00 hours on awareness to improve delivery efficiency. The foucs will be 100 % delivery attempt on the day of receipt of parcels at Delivery Post Offices awareness about correct and effective utilization of Postman Mobile App by delivery staff, awareness about delivery of parcels at the doorsteps of the addressee by the Delivery Staff

3.5) Antoyada Diwas ( 13-10-2022 )

a) Awareness cum Aadhar enrolment and updation camps will be organized in each Sub Division.

b) People will be made aware about availability of Direct Benefit Transfer ( DBT), Social Security Pensions, Jan Suraksha Scheme ( PMJJY, PMSBY, APY ) Sukanya Samirdhi Accounts, AESP and other products and services of the Department

c) Finanical literacy campaign to be carried out to adopt safety measures while doing digital payments and to avoid online frauds, Sub Divisional Heads are requested to organize in rural areas, remote areas, underdeveloped areas.

d)These camps shall be organized in rural areas, remote areas,urban slums, underdeveloped areas,undeveloped areas.

3.6) This occasion will be an opportunity to recognize eritorious/outstanding contributions made by officials at various levels in different operations.
