Subject: Clarification regarding eligibility of officials in connection with LDCE /Competitive examination for promotion / appointment to the posts of Postal Assistant / Sorting Assistant.
I am directed to refer to letter of even no. dated 28.07.2022 on the subject mentioned above. Part (C) of para 2 of said letter may be modified as under:-
Part - (C): -
Gramin Dak Sevaks(GDS) of the Circle, who have worked regularly for eight years in that capacity. The eligibility service shall continue to be five years for person holding the post of Gramin Dak Sevaks on regular basis on or before 17.06.2022.
2. Aforesaid letter dated 28.07.2022 stands modified to the extent mentioned above.
3. It is further clarified that those candidates who were holding the posts of Gramin Dak Sevaks on the crucial date of eligibility, i.e 01.01.2022, but subsequently appointed to the posts of MTS, Postman or Mail Guard, shall be allowed to appear in the examination if such candidates had completed 5 years of regular service as GDS as on 01.01.2022. Such candidates shall compete with all other GDS who are eligible to appear in the examination. All such candidates who have applied for appearing in the examination shall be allowed to appear in the examination if they otherwise fulfill the eligibility criteria, irrespective of status of recommendation of the competent authority in Circle.
