IMS Services Rollout 2026: New PLI, Agent, Customer, Accounting and HRMS Services to Be Introduced in Phases

IMS Services to Be Rolled Out in Phased Manner from October to November 2026

The Insurance Management Solution (IMS) of Indiapost is set to introduce a range of services through a date-wise and phase-wise rollout during October and November 2026. The rollout covers IMS PLI Web services, customer and agent portals/mobile applications, medical examination, accounting, reports and HRMS.

According to the rollout schedule provided in the document, the services are planned around 14 October 2026, 9 November 2026 and 25 November 2026, along with additional Phase-1 features. 

IMS PLI Web Services

The IMS PLI Web module will cover several important insurance-related services, including:

  • Policy Issue
  • Agency Management, including Agent Onboarding and Incentives
  • Collections
  • Quotes
  • Financial Service Requests
  • Non-Financial Service Requests 

Agent and Customer Services

The rollout also includes digital services through Agent Portals, Agent Mobile App, Customer Portal and Customer Mobile App.

The Agent Portal will provide facilities such as Policy Issue, Quote and Initial Premium Collection. The Agent Mobile App will subsequently support Policy Issue, Quote and Initial Premium Collection, along with additional features. 

Customer-facing services include Policy Issue and Collection through the Customer Portal and Mobile App. Further phases will enable customers to complete claim and other request workflows without visiting a Post Office. 

Medical Examination Services

The IMS rollout also covers the Medical Examination workflow. Planned functionality includes appointment scheduling and confirmation by the doctor. The Agent Portal will provide service-request and incentive-related features, while the Agent Mobile App is planned to offer full features in a subsequent rollout. 

Accounting, Reports and HRMS

The rollout further includes APT/IMS Accounting, customer service-request features, full functionality through the Customer Mobile App, and an Employer Portal under the Reports module. The document also lists APT/IMS HRMS and IMS PLI Web as part of the overall service rollout.

The phased IMS rollout is expected to progressively expand digital access to PLI services by:

  • Bringing policy issuance and premium collection to digital platforms.
  • Supporting agent onboarding and incentive management.
  • Providing online quotes and service requests.
  • Enabling customers to raise requests through portals and mobile applications.
  • Reducing the need for customers to visit Post Offices for eligible claim and service workflows.

The date-wise and phase-wise approach will allow these services to be introduced progressively across the IMS ecosystem, covering agents, customers, employers and departmental functions.
