The Department of Posts, through its SR Section, Dak Bhawan, New Delhi, has issued an important communication regarding applications for Membership Verification under the CCS (RSA) Rules, 1993.

The communication, dated 6 October 2026, is addressed to all Service Associations seeking recognition under Category at Sl. No. 1.
HSG-II, HSG-I and HSG-I (NFG) Posts Not Covered Under Category at Sl. No. 1
The Department has observed that certain office bearers holding the posts of HSG-II, HSG-I and HSG-I (NFG) have been shown as office bearers in applications submitted by certain Service Associations seeking membership verification under Category at Sl. No. 1.
The Department has clarified that these posts do not fall under the category specified at Sl. No. 1.
Associations Directed to Rectify Applications
All Service Associations seeking recognition under Category at Sl. No. 1 have therefore been directed to:
- Verify the details furnished in their applications.
- Rectify the applications wherever necessary.
- Ensure that officials holding HSG-II, HSG-I or HSG-I (NFG) posts are not shown as office bearers under the said category.
- Ensure that the office-bearer details are in accordance with the prescribed category at All India, Circle, Regional or Divisional level.
Revised Details to Be Submitted
The Department has requested all concerned associations to take necessary corrective action and submit revised/rectified details, wherever applicable, so that the office-bearer information provided in the membership verification applications strictly conforms to the prescribed eligibility criteria.
Conclusion
The communication reinforces the requirement for Service Associations to carefully verify the eligibility and designation of their office bearers while submitting applications for recognition and membership verification under the CCS (RSA) Rules, 1993.
