Postal Employees’ Unions Seek Early Payment of PLB Before Durga Puja
New Delhi, September 26, 2026: The Joint Council of Postal Employees (JCPE), representing various postal employees’ organisations, has requested the Department of Posts to make arrangements for the early payment of Productivity Linked Bonus (PLB) for the year 2025-26.
In a letter addressed to the Secretary, Department of Posts, Dak Bhawan, New Delhi, the JCPE highlighted the importance of timely disbursement of the bonus in view of the forthcoming festive season.
The letter noted that Durga Puja will commence on October 17, 2026, while Dussehra will be celebrated on October 21, 2026. The unions stated that these festivals involve considerable additional expenditure for employees and their families.
The JCPE has therefore requested that the PLB for the year 2025-26 be paid before October 17, 2026, so that postal employees can meet their financial commitments and celebrate the festival season in a meaningful manner.
The letter further stated that early payment of the bonus would provide financial relief to employees and demonstrate the Department of Posts’ concern for the welfare of its workforce, particularly during the important festive period.
The Joint Council of Postal Employees has requested the Department to accord priority to the matter and take appropriate action for releasing the PLB before October 17, 2026.
