APT 2.0: CEPT Seeks UAT for Temporary and Rotational Transfer Modules
The Centre for Excellence in Postal Technology (CEPT) has developed new Temporary Transfer and Rotational Transfer modules in the APT 2.0 application with the objective of bringing greater automation, efficiency and transparency to transfer-related employee processes.
In a D.O. letter dated 11 September 2026, Dr. Chandra Sekhar Kakumanu, IPoS, General Manager, CEPT, informed DDG (PMU), Department of Posts, that the modules have been developed in accordance with the existing rules and regulations.

The newly developed modules are intended to provide a uniform software-based application of the prescribed transfer rules, while reducing manual intervention and minimising errors in the processing of transfer cases.
UAT Proposed Across Different Circles
CEPT has requested permission to conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) in 2–3 Postal Divisions belonging to different Circles, with the testing to be facilitated by the concerned functional division.
Testing the modules across different Circles and operational environments is expected to help identify functional gaps and validate the modules under varied operational scenarios before wider rollout.
Feedback to Strengthen the Modules
The observations and feedback received during UAT will be used by CEPT to further optimise and refine the modules and make them fully functional and suitable for regular use by Circles and Divisions through the APT 2.0 application.
Rollout After Successful UAT
Following successful completion of the UAT, CEPT has requested that necessary instructions be issued to Circles and Divisions for adoption of the Temporary Transfer and Rotational Transfer modules through APT 2.0.
The implementation of these modules is expected to reduce manual work, improve efficiency and transparency in the transfer process, and minimise processing errors.
The proposed UAT marks another step towards strengthening employee-transfer processes through automation under APT 2.0.
