The rollout plan outlines a phased approach beginning with completion of development and external integrations, followed by deployment preparation, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), training, audits, Proof of Concept (POC) and finally the Pan-India Go-Live.
Development and Deployment Preparation
As per the tentative schedule, completion of IMS Solution development by CEPT is targeted for 15 August 2026. External integrations involving the PLI Directorate, CEPT and external stakeholders are planned for completion by 31 August 2026.
Other key deployment-preparation activities include:
- CSP onboarding: By 10 August 2026
- Deployment architecture finalisation: 10–14 August 2026
- Infrastructure readiness: 15–21 August 2026
- Implementation of tools and configuration: 24 August–4 September 2026
- Application deployment in Data Verification, Testing, Training and Certification environments: 5–10 September 2026
- Training content preparation: 10 August–10 September 2026
RailTel has been identified as the responsible agency for several infrastructure and deployment-related activities, while CEPT, the PLI Directorate and other stakeholders will be involved in application development, integrations and implementation activities.
UAT and Training Phase
The next major stage will be User Acceptance Testing (UAT), scheduled from 13 to 18 September 2026.
During this period, the PLI Directorate, CEPT and RailTel will participate in testing the solution. Bugs identified during UAT are planned to be addressed by CEPT between 13 and 25 September 2026.
Training activities will run in parallel. Training for Master Trainers is scheduled from 13–18 September 2026, followed by training for UC and end users from 21 September 2026 until rollout.
This training phase will be critical to ensuring that users across Circles and operational units are familiar with the new IMS solution before nationwide implementation.
Security and Performance Audits
Before production rollout, the plan includes dedicated Security Audit and Performance Audit activities involving the PLI Directorate, CEPT and RailTel.
These audits are scheduled from 25 September to 8 October 2026.
The plan also provides for creation of the Production Environment at both DC and DR, with RailTel responsible for completing this activity by 25 September 2026.
The completion of these audits and production infrastructure is an important prerequisite before moving towards the POC and eventual nationwide rollout.
POC Go-Live
Following the preparatory activities, the IMS application is scheduled for deployment for the Proof of Concept (POC) from 28 September to 5 October 2026.
The POC Go-Live is planned to commence on 9 October 2026 and continue until 7 November 2026.
The POC phase will involve the PLI Directorate, CEPT, RailTel and Circles, providing an opportunity to validate the application and operational processes before the final nationwide rollout.
Pan-India Go-Live on 9 November 2026
The most significant milestone in the tentative IMS rollout plan is the Pan-India Go-Live scheduled for 9 November 2026.
The rollout will involve the PLI Directorate, CEPT, RailTel and Circles, with the implementation continuing from 9 November 2026 onwards.

A Major Milestone for IMS Implementation
The proposed schedule represents a comprehensive transition from development to deployment, testing, training, audit, POC and nationwide implementation.
With the Pan-India Go-Live targeted for 9 November 2026, the coming months will be crucial for all participating teams. Successful implementation will depend on timely completion of application development, integrations, infrastructure, testing, security and performance audits, user training and production readiness.
The document is identified as a “Tentative Plan”, and therefore the dates may be subject to change based on the progress of various activities and readiness of participating stakeholders.
If the planned milestones are achieved as scheduled, 9 November 2026 could mark an important milestone in the Pan-India implementation of the IMS Solution.
