Why has this notification been issued?
The Directorate is expected to have vacancies due to the completion of the six-year tenure of several officers. Therefore, eligible and willing IPs/ASPs are invited to submit their willingness for posting in the Directorate.
Eligibility Criteria
Inspector Posts (IP)
- Must have completed at least two years of regular service in the IP cadre.
Assistant Superintendent of Posts (ASP)
- No minimum service requirement has been prescribed.
Conditions for Applying
Eligible officers should:
- Carefully verify their eligibility.
- Submit willingness in the prescribed format.
- Route the application through the Head of Circle (HoC).
- Ensure the application is accompanied by:
- Vigilance Clearance.
- Certificate that no disciplinary proceedings are pending.
- Confirmation that no current penalty is in force.
Important Guidelines for Posting
The revised guidelines classify Directorate postings into three categories:
1. Posting on Attachment Basis
- IPs with two years of service and ASPs are eligible.
- Initial attachment will be for one year.
- It can be extended annually up to a maximum tenure of six years.
- Pay and allowances will continue to be drawn from the Parent Circle.
- Lien will remain with the Parent Circle.
2. Posting Against Sanctioned Strength
- IPs/ASPs may be posted against sanctioned vacancies in the Directorate.
- Preference may be given based on experience and service rendered.
- The combined tenure, including attachment and sanctioned posting, shall not exceed six years.
- Officers posted against sanctioned strength will draw salary from the Directorate.
3. Officers Already Posted in the Directorate
The revised guidelines also define the tenure, transfer procedure, pay, and repatriation process for IPs/ASPs who are already working against sanctioned strength and whose lien has been transferred to the Directorate.
How to Submit Willingness
Eligible officers should submit their willingness in the prescribed Annexure-I Proforma, which includes:
- Personal details
- Employee ID
- Present posting
- Educational qualification
- Special achievements
- Reason for seeking Directorate posting
- Recommendation by the Forwarding Authority with vigilance clearance.
Important Note
Submission of willingness does not guarantee posting in the Directorate. Final selection and posting will be made strictly as per the revised guidelines and administrative requirements.
