PLI Directorate Engages Data Migration Expert to Accelerate CIS (Core Insurance Solution)-to-IMS(Insurance Management Solution) Transition
The Directorate of Postal Life Insurance (PLI) has initiated a significant step towards the successful rollout of the Insurance Management System (IMS) by engaging an experienced Data Migration Consultant to guide the migration of PLI/RPLI data from the existing Core Insurance Solution (CIS) to IMS.

According to an official communication issued by the Technology Section of the PLI Directorate on 27 July 2026, Shri Caesar Dutta, a data migration specialist with over 15 years of expertise, has been appointed to provide strategic guidance and technical support for the migration process.
To ensure seamless execution, the Directorate scheduled a meeting on 27 July 2026 at 4:00 PM involving the CEPT teams responsible for Data Migration and the Data Verification Tool, along with the PLI Directorate officials and the consultant. The meeting aimed to deliberate on the migration strategy, data verification methodology, and the roadmap for successful implementation.
The discussions are expected to focus on:
- Finalizing the migration approach from CIS to IMS.
- Establishing robust data verification and validation mechanisms.
- Defining the implementation roadmap for IMS rollout.
- Ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and consistency throughout the migration process.
The engagement of a dedicated migration expert highlights the Directorate's commitment to ensuring a reliable and error-free transition to IMS. Effective data migration and verification are critical for maintaining policyholder information, financial records, and operational continuity while modernizing the Postal Life Insurance ecosystem.
