According to the order issued by the GDS Section, the Competent Authority has approved the migration plan, and CEPT has been directed to commence the migration activity from 27 July 2026. The entire migration process is to be completed within 10 days in accordance with the approved plan.

During the migration period, the GDS Compassionate Engagement Portal on IT 1.0 will remain unavailable. However, after the migration is completed, only the existing cases pending at the Chief Postmaster General (CCE) and Director of Postal Services (DPS) levels will continue to be processed on the IT 1.0 platform, as specified in the approved migration plan.

To ensure a smooth transition, the Department has instructed all Postal Circles to dispose of all pending GDS Compassionate Engagement cases by 24 July 2026, as far as possible. This will help minimize pending workloads before the migration begins.

The Department has also directed all Postal Circles to strictly follow the approved migration plan and extend full cooperation to CEPT, Bengaluru, to ensure the successful and timely completion of the migration. CEPT has been asked to keep the Directorate informed of the migration progress and to confirm successful completion immediately after the activity concludes.

The migration of the GDS Compassionate Engagement Portal to APT 2.0 is expected to enhance the efficiency, reliability, and user experience of processing compassionate engagement cases, while supporting the Department of Posts' broader objective of modernizing its digital services.
