PLI/RPLI Proposal Pendency Under Scanner; Daily Monitoring Made Mandatory
South Karnataka Region Directs Expedited Clearance of Pending PLI/RPLI Proposals
Bengaluru, June 2, 2026: The Office of the Postmaster General, South Karnataka Region, has issued a top-priority communication directing all Divisional Heads to ensure timely clearance of pending Postal Life Insurance (PLI) and Rural Postal Life Insurance (RPLI) proposals across the region.
During a recent review of PLI/RPLI performance, it was observed that a significant number of proposals remain pending for acceptance in various divisions. As weekly Melas are being conducted across the region, proposal inflow at CPCs has increased substantially, making timely processing and approval essential for maintaining smooth workflow and achieving business targets.
The South Karnataka Region has instructed Divisional Heads to closely monitor indexed proposals and ensure that all pending cases are approved within one week. The goal is to eliminate proposals pending beyond 15 days and maintain efficient proposal processing throughout the financial year 2026-27.
To handle increased workloads during Melas, divisions have been advised to deploy additional staff at CPCs whenever proposal volumes surge. Priority should be given to clearing pending cases so that business targets for FY 2026-27 can be achieved without interruption.
The circular also directs officials to immediately raise tickets for any duplicate proposals to facilitate prompt resolution. Daily monitoring at the divisional level has been mandated to ensure continuous progress in reducing pendency.
According to the pendency statement as of 29 May 2026, South Karnataka Region recorded over 7,100 pending proposals, while North Karnataka Region had more than 6,000 pending proposals. Bengaluru HQ Region reported over 1,100 pending proposals, highlighting the need for focused action across all regions. The overall pendency stood at more than 14,000 proposals.
The directive underscores the importance of proactive monitoring, timely approvals, and coordinated efforts by all divisions to enhance customer service and strengthen PLI/RPLI business performance across Karnataka.
