Cybersecurity Capacity Building Gets Major Push with CISP Training at PTC Mysuru

Mysuru, June 12: In a significant step towards strengthening information security and cyber resilience within the Department of Posts, the Ministry of Communications has approved the conduct of a five-day Certified Information Security Professional (CISP) training programme for 16 officials of the Department of Posts. The training will be held at the Postal Training Centre (PTC), Mysuru, from 15 June to 19 June 2026.

The initiative has been undertaken through the Project Management Unit (PMU) of the Department of Posts in collaboration with STQC ETDC Jaipur. The programme aims to enhance cybersecurity awareness, operational preparedness, and information security capabilities across various levels of the postal administration.

According to the official communication, the training is designed to equip participants with essential knowledge and practical skills required to safeguard sensitive government data, manage cyber risks, and ensure compliance with national and international information security standards. Participants will also gain exposure to cybersecurity policies, data protection protocols, incident response mechanisms, and safe digital practices relevant to the Department's operational environment.

The training will be conducted daily from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM at the PTC Mysuru campus. Officials attending the programme will receive either a Certificate of Successful Completion upon passing the examination or a Certificate of Attendance for completing all sessions.

Participants have been nominated from various postal circles and units, including CEPT, Parcel & CCS Directorate, Training Division, and several circles such as Assam, Jharkhand, Kerala, North East, Punjab, Rajasthan, Telangana, Uttarakhand, and West Bengal. Preference has been given to System Administrators and officials involved in managing critical IT infrastructure.

Accommodation arrangements have been made within the PTC Mysuru campus to facilitate a comfortable learning environment. The programme reflects the Department's commitment to building a highly skilled workforce capable of addressing emerging cyber threats and ensuring the security of digital postal services in an increasingly technology-driven environment.

As the Department of Posts continues its digital transformation journey, initiatives such as the CISP training programme play a crucial role in strengthening cybersecurity preparedness and fostering a culture of information security across the organization.
