ATM Card Services Temporarily Suspended Due to ATM Switch Migration Phase-II

India Post Temporarily Suspends Select ATM Card Services from 18 June 2026

The CBS-FS Division has informed all Postal Circles that certain ATM card-related services will be temporarily suspended with effect from 18 June 2026 as part of the ongoing ATM Switch Migration (Phase-II) activities.

The suspension will remain in force until the migration process and subsequent sanity checks are successfully completed by the concerned technical teams.

Services Temporarily Suspended

The following ATM card services will not be available during the migration period:

  1. Placement and activation of fresh/replacement Perso Card requests.
  2. Issuance and activation of fresh/replacement Insta Cards.
  3. Duplicate PIN generation requests for both Insta and Perso Cards.
  4. Linking and de-linking of accounts in Insta and Perso Cards.
  5. Modification of primary account linked to Insta and Perso Cards.

System Changes Implemented

Necessary modifications have been carried out in the CCMM menu of Finacle to restrict the above services during the migration period. These restrictions are intended to ensure smooth migration of ATM switch infrastructure and prevent any inconsistencies during the transition.

Services That Will Continue

Despite the temporary suspension of the above activities, Post Offices can continue to perform the following services without interruption:

  • ATM Card Hotlisting
  • ATM Card Closure Activities

These services will remain operational throughout the migration period.

Restoration of Services

All suspended ATM card services will be restored once the migration activities and post-migration sanity checks are successfully completed and certified by the CPRC Team.

Advisory to Post Offices

  • Inform customers about the temporary unavailability of the affected ATM card services.
  • Avoid accepting requests related to fresh card issuance, replacement cards, duplicate PIN generation, account linking/de-linking, and primary account modification during the suspension period.
  • Continue providing hotlisting and card closure services as usual.
  • Await further communication regarding restoration of services.

Conclusion

As part of the ATM Switch Migration Phase-II, India Post has temporarily suspended selected ATM card services from 18 June 2026. Customers and postal staff are advised to take note of the restrictions and plan their ATM card-related requests accordingly until normal services are resumed.
