Revised LDCE IP Exam Syllabus 2025 | Revision of Pattern & Syllabus for LDCE for Inspector Posts
New Delhi, August 22, 2025 – The Department of Posts, Ministry of Communications, Government of India, has issued a significant notification revising the pattern and syllabus for the Limited Departmental Competitive Examination (LDCE) for Inspector Posts. This revision supersedes the earlier framework circulated on 6th April 2021 and will be applicable to all examinations held after the issue date.

Examination Pattern
The revised LDCE will consist of three papers with a total of 600 marks:

Paper-I (250 Marks)

Paper-II (50 Marks)

Noting & Drafting (30 Marks – 15 each)

Draft Charge Sheet (20 Marks)

Duration: 1 hour

Paper-III (300 Marks)

150 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), 2 marks each

Duration: 3 hours

Qualifying Marks:

General Category: 40% in each paper and 45% overall
-
SC/ST/PwBD: 33% in each paper and 38% overall
The examination will be conducted without the aid of books.

Effective Date
The revised pattern and syllabus take immediate effect and apply to all LDCEs for Inspector Posts scheduled after 22nd August 2025.
Official Communication
The notification was issued under the authority of Shri Vinod Kumar, Assistant Director General (SPN), with approval from the Competent Authority. The circular has also been forwarded to all Chief Postmasters General, Postmasters General, CEPT, RAKNPA, PTCs, Army Postal Service, and Finance/Accounts wings for implementation.
