Subject: Indefinite Strike from 14/12/2023 by All India Postal Employees Union Gramin Dak Sevak
Kindly refer to Notice No. GDS / All India Strike / 2023 dated 13/12/2023 on the subject cited above. It is informed that the said-Association is neither recognized nor was an applicant association in the 2011 verification process. Also, according to the Section 22 (1) of the Industrial Dispute Act, 1947, the employees going on the strike must serve a notice 14 days prior to going on such strike.
2. Further, it is also observed that the said-association is an associate member of National Federation of Postal Employees (NFPE), which has already been derecognized by the Department. It is also relevant to mention that GDS Associations cannot be federated to any Federation. Hence, the above referred Strike Notice is completely illegal. Any action in furtherance to the said notice on your part or any GDS would attract Rule 23 of the GDS (Conduct & Engagement) Rules, 2020.
3. This issues with the approval of the competent authority.
