Will the PRIME MINISTER be pleased to state:


(a) the details of the total vacant posts existed in Government departments including Public Sector Undertakings, Corporations and other Government agencies across the country during the last five years, year-wise and Ministry/Department-wise.


(b) whether the Government has taken adequate measures to fill up the vacant posts and if so, the details of the recruitments made during the said period, year-wise and Ministry/department-wise.


(c) if not, the time by which the recruitment to these vacancies will be completed.


(d) whether it is true that the number of permanent posts have been reduced during the recent years and


(e) if so, the details thereof along with the reasons for reducing the permanent posts in the Ministry/Departments of the Government?

MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF PERSONNEL, PUBLIC GRIEVANCES AND PENSIONS AND MINISTER OF STATE IN THE PRIME MINISTER’S OFFICE (DR. JITENDRA SINGH)


(a) to (e): As per the Annual Report of Department of Expenditure, the vacancy position, Ministry/ Departmeni-wise, as on 01.03.2021, is at Annexure. Data is centrally maintained only in respect of employees of Central Ministries/ Departments. Occurrence and filling up of vacancies is a continuous process, as per the requirement of various Ministries/ Departments/ Organizations of Central Government. Government has already issued instructions to all Ministries/ Departments for timely filling up of the unfilled posts. Rozgar Melas being organized by Government of India are expected to act as catalyst in further employment generation
