Inspection of Post Office work which is performed by the Inspectors and Assistant Superintendents of Posts is the foremost compliance verification tool. The quality of inspection has a direct impact on preventive mechanism. There are around 60 Questionnaires having so many sub Questionnaires and it is quite difficult to complete the checks in the given time of one day even if the Inspecting Authority stretches for 12 hours. The procedure prescribed in the draft Standard Verification Procedure will put an excessive burden on Inspecting Authority and will have far-reaching implications, only to fix accountability on Inspecting Authorities for un-intentional lapses.
This Association urges upon Postal Directorate for test checking of the feasibility at the field level at different geographical locations by conducting the inspection strictly as per the Inspection Questionnaire including the Standard Verification Procedure to find out if it is practically doable within the given time allowed for inspection before finalization.
However, the prescribed procedure specific inputs, comments and suggestions of the Association are attached for kind consideration.
