Sir, as you are aware that the Central Government Employees who were appointed on or after January 01, 2004, such employees have been brought under the Contributory Pension Scheme. The employees have been demanding since the beginning that the pension being received in the form of social security under the CCS Pension Rules 1972 should be continued, the employees are opposing the new pension scheme from the beginning.

Right now the Rajasthan government in its budget 2022-23 has announced to bring the employees of the state again under the old pension scheme. It has been reported through news media that some

other state governments are also going to announce their employees in old pension scheme in place of NPS very soon, like the state governments of Maharashtra and Jharkhand.

Sir, on the occasion of the election of five states, many political parties has assured the employees in their manifesto that if they come into power, they will implement the old pension scheme. These announcements have also aroused the feeling among the central government employees that the Central government should also bring its employees under the old pension scheme,

Sir, keeping in mind the sentiments of the employees, Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh and it is affiliated federations working for government employees are continuously demanding that the central government employees should be brought under OPS. The Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh has also been demanding that if the OPS is not implemented, then a minimum pension guarantee under NPS should be given, which should not be less than 50% of the last Pay.

Therefore, it is a humble request to you that according to he CCS Pension Rules 1972, 50% of the last Pay should be provided as pension to the Central Government Employees at the time of their retirement. Letter sent in your service for appropriate action

With warm regards,
