Indian Post Office Rules, 1933 Amendment | Indian Post Office (Amendment) Rules 2016 | They shall come into force on the 1st day of September, 2016
G.S.R. 782(E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by the Indian Post Office Act, 1898 (6 of 1898), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Indian Post Office Rules, 1933, namely:—
1. (1) These rules may be called the Indian Post Office (Amendment) Rules, 2016.
(2) They shall come into force on the 1st day of September, 2016.
2. In the Indian Post Office Rules, 1933 (hereinafter referred to as the said rules), for rule 5, the following shall be substituted, namely:— “5(1) The rates of postage mentioned in the Table shall be chargeable on the postal articles to be sent by surface where the postage is pre paid, namely:—
