 Prevention of fraud and misappropriation of government money remains a challenge. some cases of frauds for instance, the one like Raniganj fraud case dent the image of the Post Office and may ultimately scare away investors. A serious adherence to inspections in post offices is an urgent necessity, to make them an effective tool to control and monitoring. in this regard following points need to be specially monitored

i. Each Sub Divisional Head must visit the Bad Post Offices within 3 months and all the monetary transactions should be verified on the date of visit. He should also meet at least 10 depositors each of RD and SB account and verify their balance during course of visit.

ii. List of depositors of live accounts in the post office should be called for from the account office of the post office which is to be visited
