India Post Invites Applications for 11 Staff Car Driver Posts in Karnataka Circle on Deputation/Absorption Basis
The Department of Posts has released a recruitment notification for filling 11 vacancies of Staff Car Driver (Ordinary Grade) in the Mail Motor Service (MMS), Bengaluru, Karnataka Circle. The recruitment is open only to eligible serving Central Government employees, including Department of Posts officials, through Deputation/Absorption and Re-employment of Armed Forces Personnel as per the prescribed rules.

Pay Scale
- Pay Level-2 of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix
- ₹19,900 – ₹63,200
- Plus admissible allowances as per Government rules.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must satisfy the following conditions:
- Be a serving eligible Government employee.
- Possess a valid Driving Licence for both Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) and Heavy Motor Vehicle (HMV).
- Have knowledge of Motor Mechanism.
- Possess at least three years of driving experience in LMV/HMV.
- Have passed 10th Standard from a recognized Board or Institution.
Preference is also indicated for candidates having experience as Home Guard/Civil Volunteer.
Age Limit
The maximum age for appointment on deputation/absorption shall not exceed 56 years as on the closing date of receipt of applications.
Period of Deputation
The period of deputation, including any previous deputation in another ex-cadre post, shall ordinarily not exceed three years.
Documents Required
Eligible candidates must submit the prescribed application along with:
- Integrity Certificate
- Vigilance Clearance Certificate
- APARs for the last five years
- Driving Experience Certificate
- Attested Driving Licence
- 10th Standard Certificate
- Other prescribed documents as mentioned in the notification.
Selection Process
The selection includes a Driving Test and Trade Test conducted as per the prescribed pattern of the Department of Posts.

Applications must reach the office within 60 days from the date of publication of the notification in Employment News. Applications received without proper forwarding or required documents will not be considered.
Important Points
- Recruitment is only for serving eligible Government employees.
- No reservation for SC/ST is applicable for appointments made on deputation/absorption basis.
- Candidates cannot withdraw their candidature after submitting the application.
- The prescribed application form (Annexure-I) and forwarding certificate (Annexure-II) form part of the notification.
