Bihar Postal Circle Declares DEST Result for LGO Examination 2026
The Bihar Postal Circle has released the result of the Data Entry Skill Test (DEST) for candidates appearing in the Limited Departmental Competitive Examination (LDCE) for promotion to the cadre of Postal Assistant (PA) and Sorting Assistant (SA) for the year 2026.

The official communication, issued by the Office of the Chief Postmaster General, Bihar Circle, Patna, is dated 11 August 2026 and concerns the LDCE for promotion from PM/MG/MTS/GDS to PA/SA, as well as recruitment against unfilled vacancies for the year 2026.
130 Candidates Qualify for DEST
A total of 130 candidates have been declared successful in the DEST, according to the candidate-wise result enclosed with the official communication. The list provides the Sl. No., Roll Number, Candidate Name and Division of each successful candidate.
The successful candidates belong to various divisions across Bihar Circle, including Aurangabad, Begusarai, Bhagalpur, Bhojpur, Buxar, Darbhanga, East Champaran, Gaya, Katihar, Madhubani, Munger, Muzaffarpur, Nalanda, Nawada, Patna, Patna GPO, Patna Sahib, Purnea, RMS divisions, Rohtas, Saharsa, Samastipur, Saran, Sitamarhi, Siwan, Vaishali and West Champaran.
DEST Qualifying Criteria
The notification specifies the qualifying criteria for the 15-minute Data Entry Skill Test, carrying 25 marks:
- General/OBC/EWS: 75% qualifying standard
- SC/ST/PwD: 60% qualifying standard, where the candidate is not exempted from the skill test
The DEST is scheduled for 23 August 2026 (Sunday).
Merit Based on Paper-I Marks
Candidates who secure the minimum qualifying standard in DEST will become eligible for consideration in the merit list for selection as PA/SA. However, the notification makes it clear that the merit list will be prepared only on the basis of marks secured in Paper-I for deciding merit.

Candidates Advised to Verify Details
The Bihar Circle has advised candidates to immediately intimate the office if they notice any mistake in details such as Roll Number, Name, Community or other particulars in the shortlisted list.
The communication has been issued with the approval of the Competent Authority. A copy has also been forwarded to GM, CEPT Mysuru, with a request to upload the documents on the India Post website.
