The Karnataka Circle of the Department of Posts has issued revised parcel packaging rates under the Business Development Cell for various packaging categories including Normal Packaging, Premium Packaging, and Value Addition Packaging services. The updated rates were communicated through an official order dated 21 July 2025 issued by the Office of the Chief Postmaster General, Karnataka Circle, Bengaluru.
According to the circular, the revised rates are linked with the implementation of the Parcel Packaging Card in APT 2.0, where a new compulsory service charge field has been introduced for counter Postal Assistants.
New Parcel Packaging Categories Introduced
The revised structure divides packaging services into three major categories:
- Normal Packaging Service
- Premium Packaging Service
- Value Addition-Only Packaging Service
The rates vary based on:
- Weight capacity
- Single wall or double wall corrugated boxes
- Packaging materials used
- Service charges
- GST applicability
