To, The Director General, Department of Posts, Dak Bhawan, Parliament Street, New Delhi - 110001. Respected Sir,
We are writing this letter to bring to your attention the issue faced by the Mahila Samman Saving Certificate Scheme which is not available in Branch Post Offices due to the software of the RICT machine which has not been updated and as a result, the local authorities ask the GDS to bring people to the sub-post offices. It is a cumbersome work in many circles.
We would like to draw your attention to the fact that the provision of the Mahila Samman Saving Certificate Scheme in Sub Offices only has caused much inconvenience to the women who now has to travel to Sub offices. It also puts undue pressure on the GDS to meet the demands of the scheme. As there is no provision of the same scheme due to RICT Machine in Branch Post Offices which are more accessible and in easier reach.
We urge you to take the necessary action to update the RICT machine's software to enable the provisions of the Mahila Samman Saving Certificate Scheme (MSSC) in Branch Post Offices. It will benefit many women to open the account in post offices near their home. This will save time and effort both and will also ease the pressure on GDS.
We hope that you will give prompt attention to this issue and take the necessary steps to ensure that the provisions of the Scheme can be fulfilled in Branch Post Offices only.
Thank you. Yours sincerely, S S Mahadevaiah General Secretary
