As you are aware that the "Mahila Samman Savings Certificate, 2023" Scheme was announced for Nari Shakti of the country in the Union Budget 2023-24. The Gazette notification for "Mahila Samman Savings Certificate,2o23" Scheme has been issued on 31st March, 2023, by DEA, MOF and the scheme has been made available for the Nari Shakti of the Country through 1.59 lakh Post Offices from 01st April, 2023 onwards, vide SB order 05/2023 dated 31.03.2023. The same has also been applauded by our Hon'ble Prime Minister, through his tweet dated 03.04.2023 at 9:21 A.M. More than 1,000 accounts already opened under the scheme till now.
2. In order to popularise the scheme and to create mass awareness, the promotion content has already been circulated with the Circles. Target for Circles to be completed by 30/06/2023 is attached in annexure. lt is requested to conduct dedicated drives by identifying beneficiaries in Women Self Help Groups, Anganwadi ASHA workers, Schools and Women based institutions. Assistance from Department of Women & Child Development, Department of Education, & Department of Health & Family Welfare in respective states may also be sought.
3. Dedicated Drives in all the areas with special focus on underprivileged groups, Tribal, Remote areas. May also explore roping local agencies/Corporates to fund/sponsor the accounts. It is further requested to open accounts for female elected representatives and local celebrities and publicise through social media/tweets. Daily monitoring of the drive will be done at dte. level.
