Subject:- Review of ongoing GDS online engagement process and preparatory exercise for the upcoming Schedule-I (January) 2023.


Please refer to this office DO letter of even number dated 08.08.2022, wherein timelines for completion of various preparatory exercise to be completed for upcoming Schedule-I (January), 2023 was conveyed.

2. In this context, the DGPS has approved the following modifications in the existing GDS online engagement process:-

(a) To change days available for document verification from 30(15+15) days to 15 (10+5) days.

(b) In case, the VA is EA itself or EA concerned is under its control (Sub Divisional Head of same Division), the process required to be undertaken by EA shall also be  completed along with successful document verification. for engagement as Dak Sevaks/ABPM shall be shared by Divisions head with the EAs concerned for issuance of provisional enagement order. In other words, the complete process of documents verification etc be completed at the level of Divisional  heads for all the GDS posts of his Division.

(c) In case the VA is of another Division, the current process be continue However, the days permitted be curtailed to 15 (10+5) days for reporting to the EAs concerned. proposal for release of combined list against rejected and not turned up candidates is accepted.

(d)  In order to avoid issues of name mismatch, the system shall display at all relevant places that the name/DOB etc important information is to be filled in exactly as per the relevant documents/certificates available with the candidate. If candidate still fails to enter details correctly, such mistakes cannot be allowed to go in favour of candidate. However, to mitigate such issues, allowing correction in application data by candidates themselves by giving three clear days after closing of application be explored.

(e) Provision in the system/SOP be made to generate consolidated board-wise lists of candidates (to whom provisional engagement order is issued) along with copy of marksheets uploaded on the system at the Circle Office level itself. HOC concerned (ie HOC of the Circle under whose territorial jurisdiction the board has its headquarters) will depute responsible officer and get the details verified from Board. The verification result be updated/uploaded in the system. This will help in saving time, human resources and cost to the Department.
