India Post celebrates the National Postal Week in October, starting with the World Post Day on 9th October, the anniversary of the establishment of the Universal Postal Union (UPU). Financial Inclusion Day is to be celebrated on 10th October, 2022.

2. POSB, PLI/ RPLI and IPPB are significant instruments for Financial Inclusion through DOP.

Thus, a unified approach is desired on the day showcasing the synergy in the efforts of DOP for overall financial inclusion.

3. Circles are requested to carry out the following activities on Financial Inclusion Day besides the regular Financial Inclusion Melas:

i. To start opening at least 5 POSB accounts, 5 IPPB accounts and 1 PLI/RPLI policy per post office (including BOs) per day with focus on SSA accounts, premium IPPB accounts and high value PLI/RPLI policy starting 15th September, 2022 culminating into Financial Inclusion Day celebrations on 10th October, 2022.

ii.  To organize Financial Inclusion Mela in at least one village / location in each district, with special focus on the activities related to POSB, PLI/RPLI and IPPB. A Divisional Head should organize the Mela in all the districts coming under his/her jurisdiction. In case, a district comes under more than one Division then, all the Divisions should organize the Mela in that district at different locations.

iii. The common backdrop depicting India @ 75 (Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav) displayed at the Mela last year by the Circles, may be used this time also.

iv. Best performers under each segment during the campaign period should be rewarded/felicitated on the occasion in the Mela at the Divisional, Regional and Circle level.

v. Circles should ensure that at least 150 POSB accounts, 100 premium IPPB accounts are opened and 25 PLI/RPLI policies are procured per post office (including BOs) during the campaign period.

vi. Activities related to IPPB including Account Acquisition, AePS, CELC, DLC and GI may be continued.

vii. The Circles should also upload the highlights, photos, videos of the day on social media platforms like Sandes, Koo, WhatsApp, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram etc. through Circle and Regional level handles along with DOP Social media platform.

Viii. POSB Quizzes may be organised for the customers, agents, GDS, departmental staff, officers etc. during the Postal Week.

Proper coordination with PLI and IPPB team may be done for desired results. The performance would be collected directly from MIS Dashboard.
