Department of Posts Extends Rule-3 Transfer Verification & Withhold Window Till 1 July 2026

The Department of Posts has extended the Rule-3 GDS Transfer verification and post-withhold window until 5:00 PM on 1 July 2026. The decision has been taken after receiving requests from several Postal Circles seeking additional time for reverting verification status and withholding posts under the Rule-3 transfer process.

As per the communication, the following activities under the Rule-3 transfer schedule issued on 21 May 2026 have already been completed:

  • Verification of Rule-3 transfer requests by Divisions.
  • Reset verification of transfer requests by Circles, wherever required.
  • Marking of posts as withheld by Circles under the Rule-3 transfer roster.

However, considering the pending references received from some Circles, the Directorate has decided to reopen the window for Verification/Withhold activities up to 5:00 PM on 1 July 2026.

All Postal Circles have been instructed to complete any pending verification or post-withholding activities within this extended period. The communication clearly states that no further extension will be granted after the revised deadline.

The Directorate has also requested CEPT to take the necessary action and keep the Rule-3 transfer result generation process on hold until the extended verification window closes.

Postal Circles are advised to utilize this final opportunity to complete all pending actions to ensure smooth and accurate processing of the Rule-3 GDS Transfer results.
