India Post – SOP for BCP Application in Booking (Retail) & Bagging Operations
Purpose
The Business Continuity Plan (BCP) application enables Post Offices to continue Booking (Retail) and Bagging operations during system or network outages. This ensures uninterrupted service until connectivity is restored.
Step-by-Step Process to Use BCP
1. Download & Install

Download BCP
.exeand Master Data (.zip) from the official SFTP location. -
Install the
.exefile on your desktop.
2. Initial Setup

Enter:
-
Office ID
-
Office Name
-
Employee ID & Name
-
-
Upload Master Data (.zip) from the BCP Home Page.
3. Operations
-
Perform Day Begin to start work.
-
Carry out booking and bagging operations as per normal process.
-
At the end of the workday:
-
Perform Day End
-
Generate BCP File
-
4. File Upload
-
Upload the BCP file via SYNC (if network available) or via BCP Portal:

If no network is available:
-
Transfer the file using Pen Drive or OTG Cable to a system with internet access.

Login to the portal → Upload BCP File.

Ensure the file is unzipped before uploading.

Important Guidelines
-
Do not merge files from different systems; upload them separately.

Treasurer must log in to APT online and make accounting entries after upload.

Generate:

Treasury Cash Book (TCB)

Daily Transaction Report (DTR)

Daily Account for reconciliation.

Receipt Printing
-
Install and configure msi.exe for dot matrix printers as per APT specifications.
